DECLARING FRIDAY, SEPTEMSER 9, 1988, AS A SPECIaL HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF CEBU AND THE CITIES OF CEBU, MANDAUE, LAPU-LaFU, DaANAO AND TOLEDO

WHEREAS, Don Sergio Osmerfa, Sr., second President of the Philippine Commonwealth, during his career as a public servant, espoused the cause of national unity, thus earning for himself the worthy appellation of "Apostle of National Unity";

WHOREAS, this 9th of September is the 110th birth anniversary of this grest Filipino; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that those who desire to honor him be afforded the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with anpronriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQgUING, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in ne by law, do hereby declare Friday, September 9, 1938, as a special hcliaay 4n the Province of Cebu and in the Cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-lapu, Uanao and Toledo.
