MALACANANG MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES !-.-tF-AJ R47 PROCIAMATION NO...:j-!1.- DOCIARING THE YEAR 1994 AS NATIONAL TAX CONSCIOUSNESS YEAR IN SUPPORT OF PHILIPPINES 2000 WHEREAS, the governrrent has pursued oold and innovative neasures to put our eoooornic house in order resulting in expectations that a surge in the eoooomy will take place in 1994; WHEREAS, the govermnent reoognizes the private sector as a major partner in the oountry's eoonomic developrent and is handing over to the private sector a respectable share of the burden taNards the attairurent of a newly-industrializing oountry-status by the year 2000; WHEREAS, the government has to rely on the fiscal supp)rt that COn'eS from the people so that this supp)rt can be translated into roads, bridges, sch(X)ls, markets and other facilities that can sustain a massive agro-industrial developnent, create jobs and trigger an economic lx)OIn; WHEREAS, the people should be aware that they are duty-round to pay their taxes hon~stly and religiously just as they have as much right to expect benefits from the oountry's developrenti WHEREAS, the aJOperation and active participation of all sectors of society should be harnessed in reminding Filipinos of their moral responsibility to support our development efforts. 1'0'1, THEREFrnE, I,; FIDEL V.
