BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 328

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 24 TO 28, 2003, AS PURCHASING, MATERIALS AND SUPPLY MANAGEMENT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Purchasing and Materials Management Association of the Philippines (PMMAP), Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit organization of purchasing and materials managers of the country’s top corporations;

WHEREAS, the PMMAP will celebrate for this year’s fete, the theme “Taking the Supply Chain to New Heights”;

WHEREAS, in line with the goals of Philippines 2000, purchasing and materials managers and PMMAP must help upgrade the quality and competitiveness of Philippine goods and services for both the domestic and foreign markets;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by the purchasing and materials managers in commerce and industry be brought to the attention of the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from February 24 to 28, 2003, as Purchasing, Materials and Supply Management Week.
