BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 334

DECLARING FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2003, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CITY OF ESCALANTE, PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9014 converting the Municipality of Escalante into a component city of Negros Occidental was signed into law on February 28, 2001;

WHEREAS, Friday, February 28, 2003, marks the 2” Charter Day anniversary of the City of Escalante; -

WHEREAS, it is fitting that the residents of the City of Escalante be given full opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their city’s history with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALBERTO G. ROMULO, Executive Secretary, by order of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Friday, February 28, 2003, as a special day in the City of Escalante, Province of Negros Occidental.
