MALACANA~, Manila !Yr tJ q.;2(' BY THE PRESIDENT OF 1'HE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO.339 DECLARING MARCH 23 OF EVERY YEAR AS "ARAW NG PALANAN" WHEREAS, the town of Palanan, Isabela, the last seat of the Philip1?ine Republic presidency of General Emilio Aguinaldo; is known as under the WHEREAS, General Aguinaldo, a symbolFilipinos' courage and determination to be foreign colonial domination, was captured by military forces on March 23, 1901; of thefree from American WHEREAS, in observance of the Decade of FilipinoNationalism, Nationhood and the Philippihe RevolutionaryMovements, 1988-1998 (Presidential Proclamation No. 269), it is but a fitting gesture that the people of Palanan, Isabela, commemorte the heroic deeds of General Aguinaldo and other Filipino patriots of the first Philippine Republic; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V.
