• MALACANManila HrV t::1'40 BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO.340 DECLARING MARCH 20 OF EVERY YEAR AS DON SOLIVEN DAY IN STO. DOMINGO, ILOCOS SUR BENITO T. WHEREAS, the townspeople of Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur, would like to commemorate the noble deedq of the late Benito T. Soliven, a dedicated parliamentarian and gallant soldier of World War II who fought in Bataan and died in the Death March; WHEREAS, Honorable Benito T. Soliven symbolizes integrity and patriotism, virtues that his townmates want to perpetuate and serve as inspiration for presentand future generations; , WHEREAS, the people of sto. Domingo, where Don Benito T. Soliven was born, afforded an opportunity to Honor him with ceremonies; Ilocos Sur, should be appropriate NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Sunday, March 20, 1994, and March 20 of every year thereafter, as Don Benito T. Soliven Day in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur. The day shall be a regular working and school day. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
