PROCLAMATION NO. 349 RENAMING THE JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA ROOM

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2 dated May 6, 1998 by the National Historical Institute and Presidential Decree 260 dated August 1, 1973, declared Malacanang Palace a National Historical Landmark;

WHEREAS, every past administration in the country reflects a particular period in our nation’s rich history; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that Malacaniang Palace, residence and office of the President of the Philippines should recognize the historic connection past presidents have with Malacanhang Palace.

NOW, THEREFORE, |, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by law, do hereby rename the room in the Premier Guest House, Malacafang Palace, used by President Joseph Ejercito Estrada as his office from 1998 to 2001, and shall henceforth be known as the Estrada Room, in recognition of the historic value of the room in which he worked, thereby serving as a tangible reminder of President Joseph Ejercito Estrada’s administration.
