PROCLAMATION NO. 36

DECLARING SATURDAY, APRIL 25, 2001, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THEE MUNICIPALFFY OF ISABELA, BASILAN

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9019 dated March 3, 2001, provides for the conversion of the Municipality of Isabela, Basilan into a component city to be known as the City of Tsabela and mandates the holding of plebiscite for the ratification thereol:

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipality on Wednesday, April 25, 2001;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipality to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day as aspecial day.

NOW, THEREFORE, 1, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Wednesday. April 25, 2001, as a special day in the Municipality of Isabela, Basilan.
