DECLARING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2000, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF DIGOS, DAVAO DEL SUR

WHEREAS, the conversion of the Municipality of Digos, Davao del Sur into a component city to be known as the City of Digos mandates the holding of plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipality on Friday, September 8, 2000,

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipality to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise. there is a need to declare the plebiscite day as a special o° day. .

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday. ‘ September 8, 2000, as a special day in the Municipality of Digos, Davao del Sur. oc
