PROCLAMATION NO. .377

DECLARING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2000, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BISLIG, SURIGAO DEL SUR.

WHEREAS, Republic Act No.8804 provides for the conversion of the Municipality of Bislig, Surigao, Del Sur into a component city to be known as the City of Bislig and mandates the holding of plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections, in its Resolution No. 3199 dated September 1, 2000, has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipality on Monday, September 18, 2000;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipality to actively ...: participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the °"*: plebiscite day as special day; °

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, September 18, 2000, as a special day in the Municipality of Bislig, :*:° Surigao, Del Sur. se
