BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 374 ae

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 19 TO 26, 2000 AS “PEACE TOYS WEEK”

WHEREAS, there is a need to continue the pursuit of peace education among the youth;

WHEREAS, the celebration of “Peace Toys Week” this year will again invite public awareness on the ill effects of war toys to our youth;

WHEREAS, the successful observance of the event will require the support of both government and the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from September 19 to 26, 2000 as “Peace Toys Week” with the Department of Education, Culture and Sports and the National Federation of Women’s Clubs of the Philippines as lead agencies.

I call upon all residents regardless of nationality, race or creed, the public and private sectors, institutions and organizations to lend the full support and assistance to en- sure the successful and meaningful observance of “Peace Toys Week”.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
