, :M..I:.LACANAN Manila MFIJ BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION N°.3 B 6 .DECLARING ~ STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE PROVINCES REGION IX AND THE CITY OF PAGADIAN IN VIEW OF ADVERSE EFFECTS OF THE EARTHQUAKE OF 14 MAY 1994 SAID AREAS IN THE IN WHEREAS, the National Disaster Coordinating Council recomm?nds the declaration of a state of public calamity n the provinces in Region IX and Pagadian City due to tpe damage caused by the earthqake that occurred last Saturday, 14 May 1994; WHEREAS, a declaration of a state of public calamity in the aforesaid provinces and city will facilitate the provision of appropriate rehabilitation measures and assistance normally extended by concerned agencies to the concerned areas. NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of thePhilippines. by virtue of the powers vested in me by la~', do hereby declare a state of public calamity in the provinces in Region IX and Pagdian City. All departments and other government agencies concerned Cire hereby directed to implement and zxecute relief arid rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection withcalamities.
