DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 25 To 31, 1994, AS HEALTH AND

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS OF FERTILIZERS AND PESTICIDES WEER

WHEREAS, on May 30, 1994, the Department of Agriculture (DA) will celebrate its 77th Anniversary and the Fertilizer

and Pesticide Authority (FPA) its 17th Anniversary, respectively;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus on activities that instill on the general public and farm communities the FPA anniversary theme of "The Health and Environmental Impacts of Agricultural Chemicals”;

WHEREAS, the FPA has prepared a calendar of activities in collaboration with its client sectors from the fertilizer and pesticide industries, which include the production of literatures on the safe and judicious use of agricultural and household chemicals and the integration of safety tip clips on existing radio programs of individual companies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from May 25 to 31, 1994, as "Health and Environmental Awareness of Fertilizers and Pesticides Week" under the auspices of the Department of Agriculture and the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority.
