DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 5 TO 11, 2000, AS “CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK”

WHEREAS, the government recognizes the important role of civil engineers in nation-building;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc., will hold its annual national convention on November 9 to 11, 2000 at The Manila Hotel;

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus public attention on the importance of the

Civil Engineering profession and highlight its role in nation-building; !

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 5 to 11, 2000, as “Civil Engineering Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc..

I call upon all civil engineers and students to give the observance of the week their full support.
