BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 329'‘T

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 16 TO 22, 2000 AS NATIONAL DANCE SPORT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines, Inc., in its desire to promote and further develop dance sport in the country will be holding their last and biggest event of the year -- The 4th National Dance Sport Congress & Championship;

WHEREAS, the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines, Inc. is the national sport association duly accredited to the Philippine Committee to promote and prepare the Philip- pines for international competitions in dancesport or ballroom dancing;

WHEREAS, the timing of this event is most significant as Dance Sport has been already accredited by the International Olympic Committee.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from October 16 to 22, 2000 as National Dance Sport Week. To ensure the success of this worthy private sector undertaking, the Department of Tourism, as well as the Philippine Sports Commission and other government agencies are tasked to support and actively parti- cipate in the preparation and implementation of said event.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
