MALACANANG RESIDENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION No. 406 DECLARING JUNE 17, 1965, AS LAND REGISTRATlON DAY . WHEREAS, the ownership of lands is vital to the en­ hancement of the social and economic well~being of the people of this country; and· WHEREAS, there is need to impress upon landowners, specially those living in the rural areas, the importance 'of securing Torrens titles to their lands, and the benefits that could be derived therefrom; Now, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby, declare June 17, 1965, as Land Re­ gistration Day, designate the Commissioner of Land Re­ gistration to take charge of and coordinate all activities in' the celebration of the Day, and enjoin all government officia.ls and employees, as well' as private citizens, to observe the Day with appropriate ceremonies.
