PROCLAMATION NO. 407

RESERVING AS A CIVIL RESERVATION FOR EXPERIMENTAL FOREST A= CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN SITUATED IN THE BARANGAY OF LA PAZ, CITY OF ZAMBOANGA, ISLAND OF MINDANAO

Upon recommendation of the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources and pursuant to Section 18 of Presidential Decree No. 705, otherwise known as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines, as amended, and by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby withdraw from sale or settlement and reserved as Civil Reservation for Experimental Forest of the Western Mindanao State University, a certain parcel of land of the public domain located in the Barangay of La Paz, City ef Zamboanga, Island of Mindanao, as shown and described in CR Map No. 389, which parcel is more particularly described as follows, to wit:

A PARCEL of land situated in the Barangay of La Paz, City of Zamboanga, Island of Mindanao. Beginning at a point marked "1" which is identical to boulder on left side of Road junction (OPTDC Logging Road and BPI Experimental area Road) being S47°30'E., 12.5 m. from witness Tree (C) Falcata 50 cm. containing an area of One Thousand Two Hundred Twenty Seven (1,227) hectares, more of ,less.

The administration and management of the area covered by the reservation shall be jointly under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Education, Culture and Sports. For this purpose, a five-year development plan shall be submitted to the Office of the President of the Philippines by the President of Western Mindanao State University within one (1) year from the approval hereof, furnishing the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Forest Management Bureau copies hereof.

The extraction and utilization of timber and other forest products remaining in the area shall be subject to Forest and Internal Revenue Laws and Regulations.

In the event that the area is no longer needed for the purpese stated therein, or its development has already been

abandoned for a period of two (2) years, this proclamation is automatically withdrawn, revoked, or cancelled and the subject area regains its original status as part and parcel of the forest land.
