MALACANANG RESIDENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF TIiE PHILIPPINES MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION No. 410 DECLARING JUNE 24, 1965, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE CITY OF MANILA ON THE OCCASION OF "ARAW NG MAYNILA." WHEREAS,. the City of Manila has observed June 24th as its founding anniversary with indications that this will be a continuing tradition; . WHEREAS, this yearly celebration accentuates Manila's historical role as symbol of our national unity and indeed, the very seat of our national identity; and WHEREAS, the people of Manila are entitled to a full day of commemorating this important date not only in their history but in that of the whole nation; Now, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 24, 1965, as a special public holiday. in the City of Manila.
