lv1ACANAN G Manila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMJ..TION NO. 410 DECLJ\RING A STATE PROVINCE It-l OPERATIONS OF PUBLIC CAL~~ITY (~~N-MADE) IN SULU VIEW OF THE _DVERSE EFFECTS OF THE AGAINST THE ABU SAYAFF GROUP Whereas, the National Disaster Coordinating Councilrecommends the declaration of a state of public calamity in Sulu Province due to the damage caused to the displacedfamilies in Patikul relative to the operations against the AbuSayaff Group: WEREAS, per report of the SouthCom Commander and the Presidential Assistant for Mindanao, there is a total of 1,200 displaced families in the area; WHEREAS, a declaration of a state of public calamity in the aforesaid province will facilitate the provision of appropriate rehabi.litation measures and assistance normally extended by concerned agencies to the concerned area. NOW, THEREFORE, I. FIDEL V. RAMOS, President or thePhilippines, by virtue or the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a state of public calamity in Sulu Province; All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operationalplans and directives and orders issued in connection withcalamities.
