BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCI.AMATION NO. 416 AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 827, DATED 16 JULY 1935, WHICH RESERVED THE CALLAO CAVE NATIONAL PARK, BY EXPANDING IS COVERAGE TO INCLUDE CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN SITUATED WITHIN THE MUNICIPALIY OF PENABLANCA, PROVINCE OF CAGAYAN, AND RE-NAMING THE SAME AS THE "PENABLANCA PROTECTED LANDSCAPE" Upon recommendation of the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources and pursuant o the powers vested in me by law and by the provisions of Republic Act No. 7586, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 827, dated July 16, 1935, byexpand- ing its coverage to include certain parcels of land of the public domain situated in the Municipality of penablanca, Province of Cagayan, embracing the cave ecosystems therein. The subject premises shall henceforth be known as the "Penablanca Protected Landscape" and shall be under the administration and control of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in coordination with the local government units concerned and shall likewise form part of the jurisdiction of. the Protected Area Management Board pursuant to Republic Act No. 7586 (NIPAS Act of 1992). The primary purpose of this amendment is to expand the coverage of the area to include ecologically-important portions and the cave ecosystems found the,rein in order toconserve, manage, and protect their scenic, cultura,historical, scientific, recreational, and archeologicalfeatures.
