PROCLAMATION NO. 417

DECLARING FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2000 AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CITY OF ZAMBOANGA

WHEREAS, the people of Zamboanga City and those from the neighboring provinces and cities will hold concerted thanksgiving activities on Friday, December 8, 2000, and rededicate their commitment for the promotion of peace in the area; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Zamboanga, be given the opportunity to conduct their activities with appropriate civic and religious fervor.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, December 8, 2000 as a special day in Zamboanga City.
