PROCLAMATION NO. 425

DECLARING THE THIRD WEEK OF SEPTEMBER EACH YEAR AS “NATIONAL RADIATION PROTECTION WEEK”

WHEREAS, the Philippine Association for Radiation Protection, Inc., (PARP) will be holding its 10" Biennial National Convention on September 26 to 27, in Cebu City;

WHEREAS, the PARP is a professional society of workers occupationally exposed to radiation from the various fields of radiation application, namely, in health and medical sector;

WHEREAS, the PARP serves as a venue for the exchange and sharing of information and experiences among its members, thus updating their knowledge and skills in radiation protection; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to draw attention to the positive uses of radiation and accompanying safety and protective measures related thereto.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare

the third week of September each year as "Wational Radiation Protection Week”.
