MALACANANG MANILA Ilq~ Il4F J) PROCLAMATION NO. !.f.L DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF CALAMITY IN VARIOUS COASTAL MUNICIPALITIES IN BATAAN, BULACAN, METRO MANILA AND CA VITE WHEREAS, the Secretary of National Defense as Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) has reported that the latest laboratory analysis performed by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources on water and shellfish samples from the Manila Bay showed that the area, particularly the coastal waters of Eastern Bataan and Bulacan, is heavily contaminated with the toxic red tide organisms; WHEREAS, in view thereof, the Secretary of National Defense has recommended the declaration by the President of the existence of a state of calamity in the affected areas, specifically the coastal or shoreline municipalities of Samal, Abucay, Balanga, Pilar, Orion, Limay and Mariveles in Bataan; Bulacan, Hagonoy, Malolos, Obando and Paombong in Bulacan; Malabon, Navotas, paranaque and Las Pinas in Metro Manila; and Bacoor, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario in Cavite; and WHEREAS, the Chairman of the NDCC has also recommended for the release from the Calamity Fund of One Million six Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Pesos (Pl,625,OOO.OO) as livelihood assistance to the affected municipalities. NOW, THEREFORE, I, .FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the exlstence of a state of calamity in the coastal or shoreline municipalities of Samal, Abucay, Balanga, Pilar, Orion, Limay and Mariveles in Bataan; Bulacan, Hagonoy, Malolos, Obando and Paombong in Bulacan; Malabon, Navotas, Paraftaque and Las Piftas in Metro Manila; and Bacoor, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario in Cavite, and authorize the release from the Calamity Fund of One Million Six Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Pesos (Pl,625,OOO.OO) as livelihood assistance to the affected municipalities.
