PROCLAMATION NO. 452

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 3 TO 9, 2003 AS NATIONAL DANCESPORT WEEK .

WHEREAS, the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines, Inc. (DSCPI) is the national sport association duly accredited by the International Olympic Committee.

WHEREAS, the DSCPI in its desire to promote and further develop dance sport in the country, is hosting the 1 Manila IDSF international Open Championship on November 9, 2003 and also staging its 7” DSCPI National Championship on November 7, 2003, both at the Philsports Complex in Pasig City; and

WHEREAS, the holding of these two (2) events will gather dance sport champions locally and from the different countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 3 to 9, 2003 as “National Dancesport Week”. To ensure the success of this worthy private sector undertaking, the Department of Tourism, the Philippine Sports Commission and other government agencies are encouraged to support and actively participate in the preparation and implementation of the said event.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
