PROCLAMATION NO. 49 _

CALLING THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO A SPECIAL SESSION

Pursuant to the powers vested in me by the Constitution, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, do hereby call the Congress to a Special Session from May 28 to 31, 2001 to urgently consider the passage of the following measures, to wit:

e Power Sector Reform Bill; e Supplemental Appropriation for FY 2001,

and such other bills certified by this Office pursuant to the provisions of Section 26 (2), Article VI of the Constitution, or which are already in the advanced stages of the legislative process, including those pending before the Bicameral Conference Committee.
