BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 49

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 22 TO 27, 2010 AS “CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK”

WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE), will hold its 36" National Convention on November 25 to 27, 2010 at the Cebu International Convention Center, Cebu City;

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the importance of the civil engineering profession and highlight its role in nation building.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO Ill, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 22 to 27, 2010 as “Civil Engineering Week", under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc.

| call upon all civil engineers and students te give the observance of the week their full support.
