BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 49

DECLARING TUESDAY, 13 SEPTEMBER 2022, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION

WHEREAS, on 13 September 1986, former President Corazon C. Aquino met with the representatives of the Cordillera Bodong Administration and the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army to signify the Sipat (cessation of hostilities) and to acknowledge their aspirations for Cordillera autonomy;

WHEREAS, on 13 September 2022, Tuesday, the Cordillera Administrative Region will mark the commemoration of the 1986 Sipat Peace Talks;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Cordillera Administrative Region be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to the public health measures of the national government;

NOW, THEREFORE, |, VICTOR D. RODRIGUEZ, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Tuesday, 13 September 2022, a special (non-working) day in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
