PROCLAMATION NO. 555

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY I4 TO 20, 1990, AS NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION WEEK

WHEREAS, the construction industry constitutes an important segment of the industrial sector and _ contribute significantly, to the country's gross national product;

WHEREAS, the, country's goal of providing housing and infrastructure facilities for economic growth is dependent upon a strong and unified construction sector;

WHEREAS, the celebration of a National Construction Week is intended to provide a venue for all industry constituents to come together to assess the performance of the industry, arrive at solutions to problems, and map out an integrated action plan for the industry. ‘ .

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, Presidertt -

_ of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law,

do hereby declare the period from May 14 to 20, 1990, as "National Construction Week" under the auspices of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines and the _ Philippine Constructors Association and other concerned private and government entities. ;
