BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 555

DECLARING SATURDAY, 15 JUNE 2024, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 15 June 1991, the second-largest volcanic eruption in the 20 century, caused massive destruction and adversely affected the Provinces of Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija;

WHEREAS, in commemoration of the 33% anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and to ensure that the lessons and values learned from the volcanic eruption live on and are never forgotten by the people of the Province of Pampanga, the Office of the Governor requested that 15 June 2024 be declared a special (non- working) day;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Pampanga be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, |, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Saturday, 15 June 2024, a special (non-working) day in the Province of Pampanga.
