BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 556

DECLARING SATURDAY, 15 JUNE 2024, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF ANGELES, PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 15 June 1991, the second-largest volcanic eruption in the 20 century, caused unprecedented devastation and destruction in Angeles City and other parts of Pampanga;

WHEREAS, to enable Angelefios to commemorate the 33" anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and look back on how they rose from this adversity, the Office of the Mayor requested that 15 June 2024 be declared a special (non-working) day in the City of Angeles;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Angeles be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Saturday, 15 June 2024, a special (non-working) day in the City of Angeles, Province of Pampanga.
