MALACANAN,Manila MPI\J 1,,[ 9~ BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO.558 DECLARING THE MONTHS OF APRIL AND MAY 1995 CHAMPIONSHIPS MONTHS" AS "ASIAN CYCLING WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 406, series of 1989, declared period 1990 to 2000 as the "DECADE OF PHYSICAL FITNESSSPORTS"; the AND WHEREAS, the Philippines, after the past eleven years, has been bestowed again the rare and much coveted honor to host the 17th Edition of the ASIAN CYCLING CHAMpTONSHIPS and the 4th ASIAN JUNIOR CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS from April 23 to lay 3, 1995,by. the Union Cyclists Internationale and the Asian CyclingConfederation; WHEREAS, the ASIAN CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS in the Philippines was designated by the Union Cyclists Internationale (UCI) as the qualifying round for the Asian cyclists in the 1996 SummAr Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.; WHEREAS, the hosting of the 17TH ASIAN CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS as well as the 4TH ASIAN JUNIOR CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS is an opportune occctsion to showcase the country'~ economic progres and development and tourism destinations; WHEREAS, it is COIn.-non knowledge that the success chigh-caliber championships will be insured only by theand r::ocJperation of t:he private and public sector; :>f these support NOW, THEREt"'ORE, I, FIDEL V.
