MALACA:ANMANILA M r -1\1 /(, ({ BY THE 'PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO.567 DECLARING THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 1995, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN CITY OF BAGUIO THE Allied City WHEREAS, the 50th anniversary of the landing by Forces in the City of Baguio will be observed in said on April 27, 1995; WHEREAS, the. liberation of the City of Baguio fifty years ago was part of the eont--i"ftuing c&mpignfor the liberation of the island of Luzon and the entire Philipp?-es from enemy occupation during World War IIi WHEREAS, this event was made possible through effective ground support provided by the Filipino guerrillas and theother citizens of neighboring towns. WHEREAS, the people of the Ci'ty of Baguio affirm cqntinued loyalty to the principles of freedomdemocracy; i- their and WHEREAS, it is appropr:iate for the residents -of the' City of Baguio E-o"be given time to re:fect on the significance of the occasion and the full opportuQity to celebrate the date with fitting ceremonies; NOW,' THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of thePhilippines, by. virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday, April 27, 1995, as a special day in the city of Baguio. For this purpose, I call upon the Local Government ofthf'. City of Baguio to spearhead the activitie;s to celebrate the liberation in meaningful rites and ceremonies.
