MALA CANAN~ A BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES '" ~ p'IJ 14 PROCLAMATION NO. 574 DECLARING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, TAEKWONDO CHAMPIC'NSHIPS MONTH" 1995 AS "WORLD WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 320, series of 1994, declared the periou from the 1990 to 2000 as the "Decade of Physical Fitness and Sports"; WHEREAS, the "12th World Taekwondo Championships" and the "5th Women's World Taekwondo Championships" are scheduled to be held from 17-21 November 1995 at the Folk Arts Theater; WHEREAS, the said Championships will be participated in by an estimated 120 countries with an attendance of about'l,200 athletes and officials and could be the biggest single sports meet to be hosted by the Philippines; WHEREAS, the hosting of the "12th World Taekwondo Championships~ and the "5th Women's World ,Taekwondo Championships" is likewise an opportune occasion to show-case the country as a tourist destination and invite the world to visit the Philippines; WHEREAS, to ensure the success of the biggest sporting events of 1995, the cooperation of the both the public and private sector is essential; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines. by virtue of the powers vested in' me by law, do hereby declare the month of November 1995 as World Taekwondo Championships Month. The Organizing Committee of the "12th World Taekwondo Championships" and the "?th W of!1en's World Taekwondo Championships" is directed to act as the lead agency in planning, disseminating information and conducting the said spoI'ting events.
