AUTHORIZING THE WORLD CHILREN’S FUND PHILIPPINES, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR

WHEREAS, the World Children’s Fund Philippines, Inc. (“WCF Philippines”) is a non-stock and non-profit charitable and civic organization dedicated to the promotion and aid of needy and suffering children around the world by providing relief for the distressed, abandoned, needy or orphaned children in the community;

WHEREAS, WCF Philippines provides relief and aid not only to the dis- advantaged children and their families, but also to children who are victims of natural disasters;

WHEREAS, WCF Philippines is likewise involved in community projects and programs that improve and uplift the quality of life, moral, mental, physical and psycho- logical status of children in the community;

WHEREAS, to ensure and ascertain the continuous, progressive and consistent funding and financial support for programs and services in promotion of its avowed objectives and mission, WCF Philippines shall solicit funds, public contributions and donations, whether in cash or in kind, from individual and corporate donors and con- tributors nationwide on a year-round basis;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the World Children’s Fund Philippines, Inc. to conduct a national fund raising campaign for a period of one (1) year effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.
