[ Proclamation No. 601, August 30, 1969 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 1969, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN GENERAL SANTOS CITY.

WHEREAS, Friday, September 5, 1969, marks the first anniversary of the formal organization of General Santos City; and

WHEREAS, the people of that city should be given full opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, September 5, 1969, as a special public holiday in General Santos City.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 30th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-nine.
