for delivery of drinking water through its

@) instrumentalities, such as the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Local Water Utilities Administration, the Metropolitan Waterworks and

Sewerage System and the Department of Local Government:

WHEREAS, in this undertaking non-governmental organizations and associations. like the Philippine Waterworks Association, Inc., and the Philippine Asso- ciation of Water Districts are actively assisting and participating; —

WHEREAS, on the 26th to the 28th of July 1990, the Philippine Water Congress and Exhibition will be held ‘ under the joint auspices of the Philippine Water Works + Ly _ Association (PWWA), the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD), and the Local Water © Utilities Administration (LWUA) on the theme “Water Crises, ‘ Everybody’s Concern”. tee p WHEREAS, on this occasion it igs#but fitting to . highlight, focus on and recognise the joint efforts of the government and the private sectors to provide safe and adequate water supply to alli people;

WHEREAS, it behooves every citizen to be conscious

of their existing and important roles and participation

' in the proper use and conservation of water, proper

operation and maintenance of water facilities,and the

protection and preservation of our natural water re- sources and watersheds;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the .Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from July 22 to July 29, 1990, as “Philippine Naticnal Drinking Water Consciousness Week" under the joint auspices of the Philippine Water Works Association, Ine., the Philip- pine Association of Water Districts and the Local Water Utilities Administration.
