PROCLAMATION NO. 617

AUTHORIZING THE NAYONG PILIPINO FOUNDATION, INC. TO CONDUCT AN EDUCATIONAL AND NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD” OF ONE YEAR

WHEREAS, the Nayong Pilipino Foundation, Inc. (NPFIL), is mandated to establish, operate, and maintain public parks and recreation centers that shall showcase our rich cultural and historical heritage and promote tourism in this country;

WHEREAS, the passage of time and calamities caused the damage and deterioration of the existing cottages, mini- parks and other structures of the Nayong Pilipino Complex;

WHEREAS, the extensive rehabilitation needed by the Nayong Pilipino Complex would entail enormous capital outlay, which can not be substantially funded from the current finances of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation, Inc.;

WHEREAS, it has become necessary to develop and tap other sources of operating funds;

WHEREAS, the funds raised by the Nayong Pilipino Foundation, Inc. pursuant to Proclamation No. 273 dated 14 October 1993 was insufficient to undertake all the needed activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Nayong Pilipino Foundation, Inc., to conduct an educational and national fund campaign for a _ period of one year effective upon the promulgation of this

Proclamation.
