MALACANAN~ MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 620 DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF CALAMITY NATIONAL MUSEUM/SENATE BUILDINC AREA, MANILA IN THE WHEREAS, the National Museum located at the Senate Building in Mani:_a was gutted by fire causing damage to properties including national treasues housed therein; ~~, there i,s a need for the declaration of a state of calamity in the area to be able to'utilize the Calamity Funds for emergency needs, service restoration, comprehensive fire safety inspection and other remedial measures urgel..tly needed therein; HOW THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Rpublic of the Philippines, by vi:r.tue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a state of calamity in the Nional Museum/Senate Building area.
