WHEREAS, there are now more than 50 local cos- metics manufacturers in the cosmetics industry; i , WHEEAS, the cosmetics industry has grown vigorously, especially in the export of its products which shows a 40% growth rate during the past 10 years, an indication of the industry's potential as a significant foreign curr'.ncy earner; WHEREAS, there is a need to increase national awareness of(' the contributive role of the cosmetics industry in national economic development;, . NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the first week of September 1990, as "'Cosmetics Week" under the auspices of the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines, Inc.
