BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 637

DECLARING MONDAY, 05 AUGUST 2024, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF CALBAYOG

WHEREAS, Jose Avelino, who was born on 05 August 1890 in Calbayog, Western Samar, served as the first Senate President after the Second World War;

WHEREAS, on 05 August 2024, Monday, the City of Calbayog will commemorate the birth anniversary of Jose Dira Avelino;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Calbayog be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Monday, 05 August 2024, a special (non-working) day in the City of Calbayog.
