APPROVING @ND ADOPTING THE PHILIPPINE STATISTICAL DEVELOPMENT: PROGRAM FOR 1290-1952 AND PERSPECTIVES FOR 1992-1995

WHEREAS, in order to attain an effective and efficient statistical system that meets the requirements of the or “gevernment, an improved Philinpine Statistical System that is dynamic and user-oriented has been envisioned in the ‘Mecium—-Term Philippine Development Plan 1387-1932;

‘WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistical Development Program.

< -was. formulated.with the participation of various government vengencies and private groups who are producers and/or users . of statistics; .

-» WHEREAS, the approval of the Philippine Statistical ‘Development Program has been favorably endersed by the National Statjstical Coordination Seard;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C, AQUINO, President of the ‘. Philippines, Sy virtue of the powers vestec in me by law, dea “hereby proclaismrthe approval and adoption of the Philippine

Statistical Development Pragram for 1¢S0-1¢922 and Perspectives fir 1963-1995,

Pursuant to this Proclamation:

i; The National Statistical Coordinetion Board shall Caerdinate and-moanitar the imolementation af the Pragram by various government agencies, It shall likewise coardinate , the Program's “periodic assessment and updating,

2. The National Statistical Coordination Board Secretary General is hereby authorized, upon consultation with the Chairman, to issue such mencranda, circulars or other. orders as may be comsidered necessary or advisable in

’ the coordination and monitoring of the Program's implementation es well as in its assessment and upcating: For thes purposes, the National Statistical Coordinatian Soard Secretary General may create the aporopriate inter-— agency committees,

3. -The Department of Budget and Management shall consider the integrated budget for the Philippine Statistical System recommended by the National Statistical Coordination Board that will support the Pragram's implementation, .mwonitoring, assessment and updating.

4, Thee rivate sector is enjoined to lend support te the implemets ation of the Program by participating in the Various statistical activities which require their attention, especially as respondents ta statistical surveys,
