PROCLAMATION NO. 656

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 22 TO 26, 1990, AND THEREAFTER.THE FOURTH WEEK OF OCTOBER OF EVERY YEAR AS INTERNAL AUDITING WEEK

WHEREAS, our country is presently pursuing an economic program “that inevitably requires the productive efforts of all segments of our society;

WHEREAS, the _ Institute of Internal Auditors, Inc., Philippine Chapter, continuously pursues development of internal auditing practices and procedures to ensure optimum utilization of private sector resources;

WHEREAS, the Association of Government Internal Auditors has been revitalized to develop and improve internal auditing practices, methods and procedures in government to ensure proper utilization of government resources;

WHEREAS, Internal Auditors in the private sector and in government serve as effective management tool in enhancing proper utilization of total country resources, thereby contributing to the overall development of the Philippine economy; ’

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from October 22 to 26, 1990,and thereafter the fourth week of October of every year, as Internal Auditing Week in acknowledgment of the important role of Internal Auditors in both government and private sectors in the overall development of the national economy.
