MALACANAN~MANaA MFAJ Itt: BY THE PRESIDENT OF 1'HE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 674 DECLARING WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1995 AS "DON EUGENIO DAZA DAY" IN THE PROVINCE OF EASTERN SAMAR WHEREAS, Wednesday, November 15, 1995, marks the 125th birth anniversary of the late revolutionary hero Eugenio S. Daza; . "'HEREAS, Eugenio S. Daza rendered invaluable selv'icp. to our countlY and to the Filipino people as educator, revolutionary leader, and member of the First Philippine Assembly in 1907; WHEREAS, Major Eugenio S. Daza was the overall Commander of the Revolutionary Forces in the east coast of Samar duling the 1896 Philippine Revolution and the one who planned the attack that. led to the victOrjT of the Revolutional-Y Forces in the famous "Balangiga Massacre EncounteiJ' on September 28, 1901; WHEREAS, in line with "The Decade of Nationalism, Nationhood and the Philippine Revolutionary Movement", it is fitting and proper to honor and emulate the heroism and patriotism of Major Eugenio S. Daza and to give the people of Eastern Samar full opportunity to commemorate the day with appropl-iate ceremonies; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL -T. RAMOS, President of the Pl1ilippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Wednesday, November 15, 1995 as "Don Eugenio Daza Day" in the Province of Eastern Samar.
