DECLARING APRIL 20-26, 1986 AS INFORMATION AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

WHEREAS; there is a need to highlight the important role that information systems play in the development process, par- 3 ticularly in policy formulation and in the implementation of develop~ ment programs;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to focus attention on the need for more efficient methods of gathering, processing and utilizing information in the light of current developments requiring sound and systematic designing and implementing explicit and coherent plaas and policies; and ;

WHEREAS, it is essential to focus public attention to the role of information and computer technology in national development.

f NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President + of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim April 20-26, 1986 as "Informa~ tion and Computer Technology Week."

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
