BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PIllLIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 709 DECLARING 1996 AS DIAr\10ND JUBILEE YEAR OF THE YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF MANILA WHEREAS, the Young Women's Christian A$sociation of Manila, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit, voluntary, welfare and civic non-governmental association of women founded on October 26, 1926 has continuously and effectively carried out the Christian mission of social service; WHEREA.S, with i~ dedicated commitment to work with women, for women and with women's perspective, the YWCA of Manila recognizes i~ responsibility to improve and expand i~ services for the em powerment of women and girls in Manila; WHEREAS, the YWCA of Manila is conscious of the need for a stronger public a~'areness about its se'en decades of existence to provide quality programs and services that respond to comm unity needs, work actively for thp spiritual, mental and physical de,,'elopml$nt of the youth, improve the status and empowerment of women and attain responsibl~ social and economic changes to achieve peace, justice and progress in the country; NOW, THEREFORE, L FillEt V.
