BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 726

DECLARING FRIDAY, 15 NOVEMBER 2024, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF BORONGAN, PROVINCE OF EASTERN SAMAR

WHEREAS, Eugenio S. Daza, born in Borongan, Eastern Samar on 15 November 1870 was the overall commander of the revolutionary forces in Eastern Samar during the Philippine war against the United States, and represented the Third District of Samar in the Philippine Assembly from 1907 to 1909;

WHEREAS, on 15 November 2024, Friday, the City of Borongan, Province of Eastern Samar, will honor the 154" birth anniversary of Eugenio S. Daza;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Borongan be given full opportunity to participate in the commemorative activities to foster unity and reflect on the ideals that Daza championed;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Friday, 15 November 2024, a special (non-working) day in the City of Borongan, Province of Eastern Samar.
