PROCLAMATION NO. 730

DECLARING THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 2004 AS “ORIENT SOUTHEAST ASIAN LIONS (OSEAL) MONTH”

WHEREAS, it is a declared policy of the Government to encourage and promote tourism in the country as a means of making the Philippines a center of tourism industry in Asia;

WHEREAS, the 43 OSEAL Forum will be held in the Philippines from December 2 to 5, 2004, under the auspices of the Forum Organizing Committee;

WHEREAS, this Forum will be hosted by the Philippine Lions every seven (7) years with the primary objective of regional civic and humanitarian cooperation, and to exchange ideas and discuss social problems in the region that affect the lives of the people; and ,

WHEREAS, expected delegates coming from various Lions Clubs from fifteen (15) Asian countries as well as representatives from the Lions International Board from USA and Europe will attend in said Forum.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of December 2004 as "ORIENT SOUTHEAST ASIAN LIONS MONTH“.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
