• PROCLAMATION NO, 764

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 783 DATED APRIL 12, 1996 AND DECLARING THE MONTH OF JULY OF EVERY YEAR AS POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS MONTH (PCRM)

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 783 dated April 12, 1996 declared the month of January of every year as police-community relations month;

WHEREAS, the said proclamation was issued for the purpose of developing closer interaction between the community and the police in handling peace and order problems:

WHEREAS, the police community relations month is likewise aimed at enhancing police image in order to gain support from the community for effective discharge of police functions for the attainment of a peaceful and orderly society;

WHEREAS, the month of January coincides with PNP Ethics Day and PNP Founding Anniversary;

WHEREAS, considering the importance of the activity, it is paramount that the PCRM celebration be held in a month when the PNP and the community could effectively provide impact activities for the PCRM.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 783 dated April 12, 1996, by maving the Police Community Relations Month from January of every year to July of every year,
