PROCLAMATION NO. 769

DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LANTAPAN, BUKIDNON PROVINCE IN VIEW OF THE DESTRUCTION CAUSED BY A TORNADO ON JULY 2, 1991.

“WHEREAS, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) re- cammends the declaration of a state of public calamity in the Munici- pality of Lantapan, Bukidnon Province in view of the destniction caused by a tornado on July 2, 1991 which triggered flash floods and landslide;

WHEREAS, based on the report of the Provincial Disaster Coordinat- ing Council of Bukidnon, eleven (11) out of fourteen (14) barangays of Lantapan suffered in terms of serious destruction ta crops, infrastructures and private properties, and the initial estimated cost of damages to in- frastructures and agriculture is placed at #2.37 million and ¥5.° million, respectively;

WHEREAS, the declaration of a state of public calamity in the Muni- cipality of Lantapan will ensure the flow of assistance and fast recovery and rehabilitation through the programs of various responding agencies of the government.

NOW, THEREFOR, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a state of public calamity in the Municipality of Lantapan, Bukidnon Province.

All departments and other government agencies concemed are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accord- ance with existing operational plans and directives and order issued in connection with calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
