DECLARING A.PERIOD OF NATIONAL MOURNING OVER THE DEATH -OF JOSE W. DIOKNO, SENATOR OF THE REPUBLIC

ps a) WHEREAS, the death of Jose W. Diokno, Senator of

the Republic, jurist, nationalist, and statesman, is a

great loss to our people and has caused deep sorrow

among them;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim a period of national mourning of ten (10)days beginning March 2, 1987 for our beloved Senator Jose W. Diokno. During ; this period, flags of all government buildings and ins- tallations throughout the country shall be flown at half mast.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
